City Ketzin

Ketzin is located in the south of the district Havelland between Brandenburg an der Havel (about 25 km) and Potsdam (about 22 km) on the north bank of the Havel. In the parish part of Paretz branch off the Havel canal and the Sacrow-Paretzer channel from the Havel. The urban area around Ketzin is a protected natural landscape with a vast lake and marsh landscape.

Nature park Westhavelland

In the Westhavelland Nature Park you will find a unique flora and fauna. In the lower Havel lowlands is the largest contiguous wetland inland of western Central Europe. The Lower Havel lowland is also of European importance as a bird sanctuary.

Castles and museums

In Havelland there are more castles, manor houses and mansions than anywhere else. The landscape of Havelland influenced the style of the buildings, parks and gardens.
A special gem is the Paretz Castle. Imposing determines the neo-baroque castle Ribbeck the village of Ribbeck. The Caputh Castle dates from the time of the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg. Castle Nennhausen and castle Kleßen were in the possession of march noble families. And in the castle Reckahn an exhibition about the work of the Prussian school reformer Eberhard von Rochow can be visited.
