History

MOSOLF has been established in the Rhine harbour Düsseldorf since 1999 with forwarding services in the field of vehicle logistics. Before the MOSOLF Düsseldorf office was built, the loading of Mercedes-Benz Sprinters on the opposite side of the quay was already taking place, with pragmatic support from the Düsseldorf rowing club. The MS Terra, which was already in use at the time, was given its sister ship, the MS Terra II, in 2013 because of the additional Antwerp connection. Since then, usually five departures a week to Rotterdam and Antwerp. Vehicle shipments for several international customers take place in both directions.

The multimodal concept of the MOSOLF Düsseldorf branch will be supplemented on the rail by 2-3 incoming trains per week. Initially, the railway line was reactivated in early 2017 in order to handle traffic more efficiently and sustainably within the MOSOLF network. Since the beginning of 2018, rail traffic has been added to another, long-standing customer of the MOSOLF Group. The first mile from the plant to the Rhine port and the last mile from the Rhine port to the customer takes place with the local public transport fleet, which currently includes 50 vehicle transporters.

In addition to trimodal vehicle handling, the MOSOLF Düsseldorf branch also offers a wide range of automotive-related services. This includes, above all, the entry and exit control of rental and fleet vehicles. In addition to carrying out transfer inspection and changing wheels, this also includes the installation of special equipment. Approximately one third of the completed vehicles currently provide technical or visual value-added services. More complex technical work can be offered since 2015 through B&T Solutions GmbH in Korschenbroich, another MOSOLF location in North Rhine-Westphalia with a focus on public authorities and special vehicle construction.
